Dorm Room STYLE with Pottery Barn

Now that I’m almost 30 [ yikes! ] I look back at my college days & reminisce on all the good times I had. One of my favorite things to do was to head back to campus at night and just hang out with some of my girlfriends in their dorm room. Since I went to college locally, I never got to experience Dorm Life for myself but I remember being envious of everyone who stood on campus & those awesome rooms they got to decorate before the semester started.

Dorm Life is all about meeting new people and creating new friendships. How your dorm looks is the first impression these new friends get of you. Since I never had the opportunity to decorate my own Dorm Room, I have teamed up with Pottery Barn Dorm to create my dream Dorm Room.

Hibiscus Quilt + Sham

I am in love with this set! It’s colorful, girly & fun.

Lounge Seating:

Deep Pink Fur-rific Beanbag

Most dorm rooms come equipped with a standard wood table & chair so I chose a beanbag for extra seating because it was cute, fuzzy & comfy!

Chandelier / Scallop Chandelier Shade

Scallop Floor Lamp Shade

I chose these two different styles for lighting because I thought they would bring a little glam to the room. The chandelier is super chic but since it is made from cotton & contains acrylic beads it is still casual enough to fit the atmosphere of the room.

Additional Decor:

Wooden Desk Accessories

Vintage Picture Frame Decals

Vintage Frame Dry-Erase Calendar Decal

Roommate Door Sign Decal

Decals work best when it comes to dorm decorating because they aren’t permanent [ no messy clean up when the semester is over ] yet are still fab!

Storage & Laundry:

Laundry And Storage Set

I love this set! It comes with a pop up hamper & 3 underbed storage bins. Storage & space for all your clothes is always an issue in the dorm rooms since there is limited space so this is perfect for keeping additional items you need tucked away.

PBDorm makes me wish I was back in college! They offer an exclusive collection of dorm furnishings and essentials including: bedding, seating, lighting and other accessories designed to help teens turn their dorm room into their ultimate home away from home. PBdorm addresses all of your needs in a range of categories such as: sleep, study, lounge, decorate, organize and shower. PBdorm offers smart storage solutions and unique ways to personalize your space, including decals and murals that are designed to hang with no nails or tools required. PBdorm focuses on providing dorm solutions such as multi-functional products and space-saving items, helping teens make the most of their limited dorm room space.

Have you checked out PBDorm? If so – what are your favorite pieces?? I love that the pieces don’t limit you to only decorating a college space but can also look great in an adult room or extra sitting area.

The 1st Annual ‘Lobster de Mayo’

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to attend the First Annual “Lobster de Mayo” event which was presented by Homarus, who supplied all the Lobster for the evening, and hosted by The Food Network’s Katie Lee.

The event was held at the beautiful space, Capitale, in downtown Manhattan. Chefs from 20 of the city’s finest restaurants whipped up Lobster & Mexican inspired dishes.

Some of these restaurants included:

Patron was serving up cocktails throughout the night and there was even a special Margarita Bar for guest to squeeze their juice of choice to make their own drink.

This elegant evening helped benefit NY’s own City Harvest, a food rescue organization that helps to feed two million New Yorkers who face hunger each year. There was also a silent auction consisting of sports and music memorabilia, donated dinner packages from all of the participating restaurants and a special gift package from FreshDirect. All proceeds from the Silent Auction will be donated to City Harvest.

Here’s a look at some of the yummy dishes that were served:

While all of the food was delicious – 2 of the dishes really stood out to me.

Lobster Tacos from La Bodega Negra

Macaroni & Lobster Cream from Catch

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about these 2 dishes & will absolutely be making a visit to both restaurants in the near future.

Here are a few photos from the event:

Overall, Lobster de Mayo was a blast. It was a night that was filled with Food & Fun while raising money for an amazing organization.

Attire – Lobster De Mayo

Saturday night I had the pleasure of attending the Lobster De Mayo event. This event was hosted by The Food Network’s: Katie Lee and was held at Capitale in NYC. It was a showcase for many premier New York restaurants to prepare and share an evening of lobster inspired dishes and since Patron sponsored the event – the tequila was flowing.

Here was my outfit for the night:

Top: Mandee — Skirt: Rainbow Apparel — Shoes: Target Style — Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of being invited to shop my local Dots store.

At Dots you can find women’s apparel and accessories that are not only up to date with the latest trends but affordable! They offer sizes 0-24 and have more than 400 store locations throughout 28 states. I haven’t been to dots in a while and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to go check them out again. It seems as all the stores have been revamped and the selection of clothing as well as bags and shoes was impressive. The store was really busy so I didn’t get to take as many pictures of their products and fixtures/displays as I would have liked to but I do have a few to share with you. Aside from the great merchandise and prices I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing customer service that I not only received, but every customer in the store. The manager on duty and her staff were constantly assisting people into fitting rooms, at the cashier and grabbing other sizes and locating items. It was really refreshing to see the employees who loved what they do.

I fell in love with this display in the store, especially the bag. You can never go wrong with studded detail!

Here are the item’s I ended up purchasing:

As soon as I saw these motto leggings, I knew I HAD to have them! The thick material and fit was amazing. I also fell in love with this sheer blouse. It has jewel detailing and I’m loving how the back is slightly longer than the front. Here is a look at it on the model from their website.

I also picked up a colorful scarf, faux fur vest and tall hidden wedge boots.

Here’s a better view of the vest & boots:
